Holter Monitor at Home | Postal Heart Monitor UK | The Cardiology Doctors

Our Holter At Home service brings the same 7-day heart rhythm monitor used in our Marylebone clinic to your door, anywhere in mainland UK. The device is posted to you with clear written and video instructions, you fit it yourself, wear it for 7 days during your normal life, then return it in pre-paid packaging. Dr Nabila Laskar reviews every recording personally and issues a full consultant report. It is the ideal choice if you live outside London, can’t take time off work, or simply prefer the convenience of testing from home.

What is a postal Holter monitor?

A postal (or ‘at home’) Holter monitor is the same medical-grade ambulatory ECG device we use in clinic — a small, lightweight recorder connected to a few skin electrodes. The only difference is that it is fitted by you rather than by a nurse. Modern Holter devices are designed for simple self-application: the electrodes are clearly marked, the device clicks into place, and we provide a step-by-step illustrated guide plus a short video.

How does the service work?

Once you book, the device is dispatched to your address by tracked delivery. Inside the box you will find the Holter recorder, pre-attached electrode patches, a printed guide, a symptom diary, and a pre-paid return envelope. You apply the electrodes following the diagram (it takes around 5 minutes), wear the device for 7 days, fill in the diary when you feel symptoms, then remove it and post it back. We analyse the recording and Dr Laskar issues a full consultant report by email, usually within 5–7 working days of return.

What to expect when the device arrives

Open the pack and check the contents against the included checklist. Clean and dry the skin on your chest, apply the electrodes in the marked positions, and clip on the recorder. The device starts automatically. You can shower normally, work, drive and sleep with it on. At the end of 7 days simply remove the electrodes, place the device in the pre-paid return envelope, and post it back. You will receive your full written consultant report by secure email.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the postal Holter monitor work?

We post a medical-grade 7-day Holter device to your home with simple illustrated instructions. You self-fit the electrodes, wear it for a week, then return it in the pre-paid envelope. Dr Laskar analyses and reports the recording.

Is the postal Holter as accurate as one fitted in clinic?

Yes. It is the same device with the same electrodes and the same analysis software. Provided the electrodes are placed correctly using the supplied diagram, the data quality is identical.

How do I attach the electrodes myself?

Each electrode position is clearly marked on the included diagram. The skin needs to be clean and dry. The whole process usually takes around 5 minutes, and a short video guide is included with every device.

What happens after I return the device?

On arrival the recording is downloaded and analysed beat-by-beat. Dr Laskar then reviews the results, writes a full consultant report and sends it to you (and your GP if you wish) by secure email, usually within 5–7 working days.

Can I use this service if I live outside London?

Yes — that is the main reason the service exists. We post to any mainland UK address by tracked delivery and provide a pre-paid return envelope.

Do I need a GP referral to book the postal Holter?

No. You can self-refer and book directly online.
