The Ultimate Heart MOT is a structured, consultant-led cardiac screening pathway covering structure, function, rhythm and risk. It combines history-taking and clinical examination, a resting 12-lead ECG, a handheld transthoracic echocardiogram, a 7-day Holter rhythm recording, and key blood tests including a full lipid profile, HbA1c, kidney and liver function. Because rhythm disturbances are often intermittent, the 7-day recording substantially increases the chance of capturing palpitations, pauses or atrial fibrillation that a single ECG can miss.
Your first visit is a 45-minute consultation, ECG and handheld echocardiogram with Dr Laskar, and the 7-day Holter monitor is fitted at the same appointment. Blood tests are taken in clinic. Once you return the Holter and the bloods are back, a follow-up consultation (in person or by video) is arranged to walk you through the integrated results and your personalised action plan. Most patients complete the whole pathway within 2–3 weeks. A full cart-based echocardiogram or a CT coronary angiogram can be arranged where clinically appropriate.
Allow around 90 minutes for the first appointment. Please wear comfortable clothing that opens at the front and bring a list of your medications. There is no need to fast unless we have asked you to. The Holter monitor is small, discreet and worn under clothing for up to 7 days — you can carry on with normal daily activities, avoiding swimming and baths. Same-day verbal feedback is given on the ECG and echocardiogram; the Holter and blood results are discussed at your follow-up consultation.

The first appointment takes around 90 minutes, the Holter is worn for up to 7 days, and the follow-up consultation takes about 30 minutes. Most patients complete everything within 2–3 weeks.

Yes. The monitor is designed for normal daily life, including work and most exercise. Please avoid swimming, baths and showers that would wet the device unless told otherwise.
